Firefighter I

This class is 156 hours of classroom and hands on instructions. The class covers fire department organization and safety, fire behavior, building construction, ppe, communications, ropes, rescue, fire hose, water supply, ladders, forcible entry, ventilation, sprinklers, fire control, fire cause and origin, salvage and overhaul, fire ems, hazmat awareness, Hazmat operations, emergency vehicle driving, this class is very physically demanding in the class room and hands on. The class also covers live fire with interior and exteriors fire attacks, vehicle fire, class A fire, dumpster fires, utility recognition, fire extinguishers. There are many examinations and hands on objectives to complete in this class.

This class also consists of practical skills examination at the end of class which then will make you eligible for the state exam. All classroom examinations have a 75 percent passing requirement.

Hazmat awareness
Hazmat operations
CPR
State Testing- With successful completion of the state fire test you will obtain your Firefighter I card
