Practical Nurse

General Information:

Practical Nurses provide to individuals and groups the nursing care requiring the application of basic knowledge of the biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences at the direction of a licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, or registered nurse.

Practical Nursing emphasizes general nursing skills including medication administration and IV Therapy. This program prepares students to take the state licensing examination. Scholarship Opportunity:

If you are a graduate of the CCCTC High School Health Academy or other High School program in the last four years, you are eligible for a $4000 scholarship in the Practical Nurse program at CCCTC Adult Education. The classes run for twelve months and are held from 9 am to 3:30 pm. You would receive $1000 off your tuition each quarter! This scholarship would make your total program cost UNDER $10,000!! Compare that to other area colleges and universities and you will see what a great opportunity it is for you.

Length of Program:
12 Month program / 1,200 Hours (Next start August 2025)

Daytime Program
Class times 9 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Classes will be five days a week.

Entrance Test Requirements: 
The entrance test administered is the TEAS test. Student must receive a 55% or higher to obtain admission into the LPN program. 

There is a one time opportunity to re-test if any of the sections are not passed.  The cost is $100.00 for the re-take.

As a minimum requirement all CCCTC Adult Education programs require students to hold a High School Diploma or GED. See Handbook (under helpful links & forms) for specific admission requirements.

 

Students are offered instruction on using specific computer applications needed for all programs.  However, it is helpful for students to be familiar with use of a personal computer to navigate computer applications used in all CCCTC Adult Education programs.
