BASIC POLICE ACADEMY (OPOTA)
Applications for the new CCCTC Police Academy program are now available.
Exciting News- Program slated to begin August 15 2022. Students can complete this program in 9 months, start to finish, ending with a State of Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate. The CCCTC Police Academy is administered under the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council, and is required training to become an police officer in the State of Ohio. At CCCTC Police Academy you will enjoy small class sizes, lowest tuition in the area and a high-quality learning environment. A career in Police or Policing is considered and in demand career field with plenty of job opportunities locally.
The training program consists of 740 hours, offered in 9 months. The program qualifies for several grant and funding options. Applicants that qualify for the new State of Ohio awarded, short term grant funds, could attend Tuition FREE. Plus for 2022 we are offering a special low Tuition for our first year only. Students will be required to purchase their own firearms, handcuffs, and gun belt.
Commander Allan Young has been a leader in Columbiana County Law Enforcement for many years and is thrilled to have an Academy in our county. He along with many other local professional law enforcement officers will expertly provide classroom instruction needed to work in criminal justice.
